Job Overview
A growing and dynamic immigration law firm based in Los Angeles is seeking an experienced Immigration Attorney to manage a diverse caseload involving removal defense and family-based immigration matters. Duties
Represent clients before the Executive Office of Immigration Review (EOIR), including both detained and non-detained hearings
Handle family-based immigration matters with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), the Department of State, and international consulates
Prepare and litigate applications for relief from removal such as:
Asylum
Withholding of removal
Convention Against Torture (CAT)
Cancellation of removal
Adjustment of status
Manage cases involving U-Visas, VAWA petitions, N-400 applications, I-601A and I-212 waivers, and family petitions
Conduct legal research and develop case strategies
Collaborate with administrative staff and maintain up-to-date client communication
Analyze client needs, propose legal solutions, and advocate for favorable outcomes
Travel as necessary for court hearings, client meetings, and USCIS interviews
Requirements
3–4 years of experience in immigration law, with emphasis on VAWA, U Visas, Naturalization, Removal Defense, and Family-Based cases
Valid U.S. driver’s license and access to reliable transportation for frequent travel
Ability to work independently while coordinating with a legal team
Strong understanding of current immigration law and policy
Education
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
Certifications
Active bar license in any U.S. state (required)
Skills
Fluency in English; Russian fluency strongly preferred
Excellent legal writing and oral advocacy skills
Strong interpersonal and client counseling abilities
Highly organized with the ability to manage complex caseloads
Technologically proficient with legal research and case management systems
