A law firm seeks a dedicated Associate Attorney with experience in civil litigation and/or employment law to join its legal team in Monterey, CA. This role involves managing litigation matters, advising clients on employment-related legal issues, and participating in various aspects of dispute resolution. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented legal professional with strong research and advocacy skills.

Duties

• Handle all stages of litigation, including discovery, witness interviews, depositions, motion practice, and court appearances.

• Represent clients in mediations, arbitrations, and trials, particularly in employment-related disputes and class action suits.

• Provide strategic counsel to employers on workplace policies, employment practices, and compliance matters.

• Conduct workplace investigations and manage administrative claims related to employment law.

• Perform thorough legal research and draft legal memoranda, pleadings, and motions.

• Maintain direct communication with clients to provide updates and legal guidance.

Requirements

• Experience in civil litigation and/or employment law, including discovery, depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation.

• Strong ability to manage multiple legal matters efficiently and meet deadlines.

• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

• Effective verbal and written communication skills, including drafting legal documents and correspondence.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admission to the California State Bar or eligibility for reciprocity.

• Proficiency in legal research, writing, and litigation strategy.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a legal team.

• Strong client relationship management skills.
