Duties

• Case Management:

  • Manage a diverse caseload of civil cases from start to finish, ensuring that all deadlines and legal requirements are met.

• Legal Research & Strategy:

  • Conduct legal research on complex issues and develop case strategies based on findings.
  • Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.

• Courtroom Representation:

  • Represent clients in court, handling motions, hearings, and trials as necessary.
  • Advocate for clients with strong oral and written communication, ensuring their positions are presented.

• Collaboration & Teamwork:

  • Work closely with team members and senior attorneys, collaborating on cases and sharing knowledge.
  • Contribute to the firm’s culture by providing guidance and support to junior staff as needed.

• Client Interaction:

  • Communicate regularly with clients to update them on case progress, gather information, and offer legal advice.
  • Maintain strong client relationships, ensuring a high level of client satisfaction.

Requirements

• Experience:

  • 3-7 years of experience in civil litigation, with a focus on case management and courtroom experience.
  • Strong understanding of civil procedure, evidence, and applicable state and federal laws.

• Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey legal concepts and arguments.
  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring all case documents and filings are accurate and thorough.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Organizational skills to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines effectively.

• Licensing:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership and good standing with the California State Bar.
