A law firm seeks an experienced Senior Family Law Attorney in Minneapolis, MN. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional eager to handle complex divorce and custody matters while contributing to leadership and strategic case direction within a collaborative team environment.

Duties

• Draft pleadings, motions, affidavits, memoranda, and trial briefs in divorce and custody matters.
• Prepare for and attend court hearings, motion hearings, settlement conferences, and trials.
• Conduct courtroom advocacy and present witness testimony and evidence.
• Develop case strategies for complex family law cases, including divorce, child custody, and spousal maintenance.
• Conduct legal research and analyze Minnesota statutes, case law, and procedural rules.
• Manage discovery, review financial documents, and analyze evidence.
• Negotiate with opposing counsel and represent clients in settlement discussions and mediation.
• Maintain direct client communication and provide strategic legal guidance.
• Draft substantive legal correspondence to clients, courts, and opposing counsel.
• Supervise and review work prepared by paralegals and legal support staff.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience practicing family law in Minnesota.
• Active Minnesota Bar license in good standing.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• High emotional intelligence and professionalism in client interactions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational and calendar management skills.
• Comfortable using legal technology and case management systems.
• Collaborative mindset with a willingness to support team needs when necessary.
• Adaptable, solution-oriented, and able to shift priorities efficiently.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
