A Fayetteville-based law firm with a regional presence across the Carolinas is seeking a Litigation Associate to join its dynamic legal team. This role offers the opportunity to handle diverse client matters in business transactions, estate planning, and probate litigation. The position is open to both full-time and part-time attorneys interested in contributing to a client-focused, collaborative practice.

Duties:

  • Draft and review corporate documents, including mergers, acquisitions, organizational agreements, and various business contracts

  • Consult with business owners and stakeholders regarding internal conflicts, external legal disputes, and ongoing contractual matters

  • Develop comprehensive estate planning documents such as wills, powers of attorney, and trust instruments

  • Guide clients through the probate process and associated legal filings

  • Represent clients in litigation proceedings, including depositions, mediations, hearings, trials, and arbitrations involving business and estate matters

  • Provide legal advice on transactional and probate issues across the firm’s practice areas

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited institution

  • Licensed to practice law in North Carolina

  • Demonstrated proficiency in managing complex caseloads

  • Strong legal analysis and contract interpretation capabilities

  • Effective time management and organizational skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to work autonomously while collaborating with legal teams

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) required

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in North Carolina

Skills:

  • Advanced legal research and writing abilities

  • Comfort with oral advocacy in litigation settings

  • Familiarity with estate planning and probate procedures

  • Experience working with corporate clients and business negotiations

  • Proficiency in balancing multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
