Tax Manager, Unclaimed Property Tax; State and Local Tax (SALT)

Duties: Help with assessing our client’s state and local tax burden and recommend solutions that support their overall business objectives to ensure that their filling positions are consistent with good business practices and with the states applicable tax laws and rules. Comply with complex laws and requirements related to uncashed payroll checks, aged accounts receivable credits, and other types of abandoned and unclaimed property. Assist multi-state companies with state unclaimed property matters including audit defense, voluntary compliance, annual reporting, developing policies and procedures, and consulting. Review unclaimed property compliance processes and making recommendations for improvement. Assist audit teams with review and analysis of unclaimed property reserves. Assist multi-state companies with unclaimed property audits which includes preparing clients for discussions with auditors, review document requests, review audit assessments, and representing the client at meetings. Research and draft technical memoranda regarding the jurisdictions unclaimed property compliance rules. Supervise, mentor, and develop staff.
