Domestic Relations Attorney

Profile

A law firm in Southfield is seeking a Domestic Relations Attorney with 3+ years of experience for its practice group. The ideal candidate will have experience drafting discovery and motions, appearing in court, and leading status conferences.

Duties:

• Draft discovery requests, responses, and motions in domestic relations cases.
• Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings and trials.
• Lead status conferences with clients and opposing counsel.
• Conduct legal research on domestic relations issues.
• Provide legal advice and counsel to clients on matters related to divorce, child custody, spousal support, and property division.
• Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients.
• Prepare for and participate in mediation sessions.
• Collaborate with other attorneys and staff on complex domestic relations cases.
• Maintain accurate and organized case files and documents.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Bar in the relevant jurisdiction.
• 3+ years of experience in domestic relations law.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Courtroom experience and confidence in litigation skills.
