Job Details:
This position is responsible for hanging birds on the line into machine shackles. The rehanger picks up the birds off the conveyor line at waist height to hang in shackles with the breast facing them. This requires both bird legs at a pace of 28 to 35 birds per minute. They also grade the down-graded birds off the conveyor line/rehang table.
Use hands, arms and stand for long periods of time while on a platform.
Must be able to work around moving equipment. Must be able to work in cold/wet environments (40 to 50 degrees). Wear P. P. E.’S and follow all safety policies and procedures.
Must be able to perform each job function satisfactorily with lifting, use of hands and arms in fast paced position while working on a platform in cold/wet conditions. Be alert and safety conscious at all times. Must be able to perform all the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the following job functions; stand for long periods of time on a platform, and reach with hands and arms in repetitive motion while hanging/grading 28 to 35 birds per minute. Other specialized training/demands on JSA (Job Safety Analysis). The work environment an employee is exposed to while performing the duties are; Cold/wet conditions in 40 to 50 degrees, moving mechanical parts/equipment. The noise level is very loud.
This position is a Class I position.
