A distinguished law firm with a growing presence in Albuquerque, NM seeks a seasoned personal injury attorney to serve in an advisory capacity, providing strategic consultation to potential new clients and collaborating with active litigation teams. This role is ideal for an experienced trial lawyer ready to transition away from direct litigation, yet eager to continue using legal expertise to influence case outcomes and client decisions. The position is remote, with flexibility and occasional travel, and involves client-facing responsibilities outside standard office hours.
Duties:
Engage with potential new clients to evaluate case viability and provide informed legal guidance
Collaborate with litigation teams to assess case strategies without directly handling litigation
Serve as a subject matter expert by applying trial experience to inform firm decision-making
Educate clients on legal processes, ensuring clarity and transparency in all communications
Maintain professional and empathetic client interactions, even during high-stress consultations
Participate in internal team meetings to review case developments and align on strategy
Contribute to a client-first culture by supporting the firm’s reputation for quality and care
Occasionally attend firm meetings, team events, or in-person client sessions as needed
Requirements:
Minimum of 20 years of legal practice, preferably with 30–40 years of personal injury trial experience
Demonstrated record of client advocacy and high professional standards in litigation settings
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, particularly in client advisement
Availability to work some evenings and weekends as dictated by client needs
Comfortable working remotely while maintaining a professional and private environment
Willingness to travel occasionally for meetings and team coordination
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Active license to practice law in the State of New Mexico
Certifications:
Membership in the New Mexico State Bar
Skills:
Exceptional legal judgment and client advisement capability
Strong emotional intelligence and empathy when dealing with seriously injured individuals
Ability to distill complex legal scenarios into digestible options for clients
