A law firm seeks an experienced Litigation Attorney specializing in personal injury and medical malpractice to join its team. This position involves managing a diverse caseload that includes medical malpractice, nursing home negligence, product liability, motor vehicle accidents, and slip-and-fall incidents. The attorney will work closely with clients from the inception of their cases through to resolution, ensuring that all legal strategies are effectively implemented.

Duties

• Draft legal pleadings and necessary documentation for various personal injury cases.
• Conduct thorough discovery processes, including depositions and witness interviews.
• Engage in motion practice and legal research to support case arguments.
• Develop and implement effective litigation strategies tailored to individual cases.
• Provide legal counsel to clients, keeping them informed about case developments and options.
• Advocate for clients in court and during mediation sessions.
• Negotiate settlements with insurance carriers and defense counsel.
• Collaborate with supervising attorneys and provide regular case updates.

Requirements

• A minimum of five (5) years of litigation experience, particularly in personal injury and medical malpractice law.
• Active license to practice law in the State of New York.
• Proven ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize tasks effectively under tight deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in New York State.
