A law firm seeks an experienced litigation attorney to join its Providence, RI office, focusing on construction and design professionals. The role involves representing contractors, construction managers, owners, developers, architects, engineers, and their insurers in complex litigation matters.

Duties

• Independently manage an active litigation caseload from inception to trial.
• Interface with clients and insurance professionals.
• Conduct and defend depositions.
• Retain and collaborate with expert witnesses.
• Engage in written discovery.
• Draft and argue motions and oppositions at hearings.
• Negotiate settlements independently and at mediation.
• Evaluate liability and damages issues and prepare exposure evaluations.
• Support trial preparation.
• Maintain accurate and timely time records.

Requirements

• Minimum of five years of experience in construction and/or design professional litigation.
• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Admission to practice in MA; admission in other New England states preferred.
• Interest in construction projects.
• Ability to work independently.
• Organized and efficient work style.
• Superior research and writing skills.
• Ability to multi-task and analyze complex matters.

Education

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admission to practice law in MA; additional New England states preferred.
