Job Overview:

A Seattle-based law firm is currently seeking a skilled Civil Litigation Counsel to manage a diverse caseload of civil litigation matters from inception through resolution. This position offers a collaborative and forward-thinking environment where legal talent is valued and supported. The selected candidate will engage in a broad array of legal functions, including pleadings, motion practice, client advocacy, and litigation strategy development. Duties:

• Handle a full litigation docket independently, from initial assignment to final disposition

• Draft, revise, and file legal documents including pleadings, motions, and correspondence

• Lead discovery processes, including interrogatories, depositions, and document production

• Represent clients in various legal proceedings, including court hearings and mediations (in-person and remote)

• Deliver internal and client-focused training on procedural and substantive legal matters

• Communicate directly with clients to provide updates, legal counsel, and case strategy guidance

• Support firm compliance protocols, ensuring secure handling of sensitive data

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2-5 years of experience practicing civil litigation, preferably within the jurisdiction

• Must hold active licensure in California and be eligible for admission to federal district courts, or express willingness to obtain it

• Good standing with the California State Bar

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively under shifting priorities

• Proven expertise in legal research and applying findings to nuanced case strategies

• Strong written and verbal communication skills for both legal documentation and client relations

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

• Admission to the State Bar of California

• Federal District Court admissions preferred or pending

Skills:

• Comprehensive knowledge of civil litigation processes and procedures

• High attention to detail with strong organizational and time management capabilities

• Clear and persuasive oral advocacy skills
