Civil Litigation Attorney
A Seattle-based law firm is currently seeking a skilled Civil Litigation Counsel to manage a diverse caseload of civil litigation matters from inception through resolution. This position offers a collaborative and forward-thinking environment where legal talent is valued and supported. The selected candidate will engage in a broad array of legal functions, including pleadings, motion practice, client advocacy, and litigation strategy development. Ideal candidates are motivated self-starters with a deep understanding of litigation processes, exceptional analytical skills, and a commitment to high-quality legal service.
Handle a full litigation docket independently, from initial assignment to final disposition
Draft, revise, and file legal documents including pleadings, motions, and correspondence
Lead discovery processes, including interrogatories, depositions, and document production
Represent clients in various legal proceedings, including court hearings and mediations (in-person and remote)
Deliver internal and client-focused training on procedural and substantive legal matters
Communicate directly with clients to provide updates, legal counsel, and case strategy guidance
Support firm compliance protocols, ensuring secure handling of sensitive data
Minimum of 2-5 years of experience practicing civil litigation, preferably within the jurisdiction
Must hold active licensure in California and be eligible for admission to federal district courts, or express willingness to obtain it
Good standing with the California State Bar
Ability to work independently and collaboratively under shifting priorities
Proven expertise in legal research and applying findings to nuanced case strategies
Strong written and verbal communication skills for both legal documentation and client relations
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school
Admission to the State Bar of California
Federal District Court admissions preferred or pending
Comprehensive knowledge of civil litigation processes and procedures
High attention to detail with strong organizational and time management capabilities
Clear and persuasive oral advocacy skills
Proficiency in managing multiple deadlines and legal workflows
Adept at using case management and legal research platforms
