Litigation Attorney

The candidate drafts legal pleadings, notices, and memoranda. Manages 30 to 45 cases, depending upon complexity and activity. Takes ownership of every case assigned; understand the details intimately; manage deliverables to deadlines; communicate with partners; and exercises initiative at every opportunity. Follows applicable rules of civil procedure and court rules, calendar events, and meets deadlines. Performs legal research; keep abreast of changes in the law and industry; shares new legal developments and court related experiences with colleagues. Engages in discovery related activities: document review and production, deposition preparations, defends and takes depositions. Appears in court, and attends mediations and settlement negotiations. Interfaces with clients; understands their business; drafts and communicates case statuses; provides sound legal advice; estimates legal fees; and produces high-quality, exceptional value legal representation. Tracks and documents time on tasks, daily, using software, ensuring each entry is a value or service to the client. Engages in civil litigation activities in other key industries: bet-the-company actions, trusts and estates, cyber security, entrepreneurial enterprises, entertainment, music and sports, and trademark and patents. Visits client sites as needed, potentially involving document collections, custodian interviews, and internal investigations. Operates software and external technology platforms, related billing and invoicing, video conferencing, communications, reporting, status updates, document review, and task tracking or project management. Attends internal meetings and training sessions as required. Performs work during core work hours (9 to 5 local time), generally, and completes tasks after hours including weekends and holidays as necessary to meet deadlines and to satisfy the annual hourly requirement. Works remote effectively and travels to a PIB office, courthouse, or other location as required. Performs all other duties and responsibilities involving the licensed practice of law, firm administration and operations, mentoring and training, and generally contributes to a healthy collaborative, welcoming and inclusive environment.
