Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Attorney to join their trial and civil litigation team in Irvine, CA. The successful candidate will litigate civil matters for prominent property owners and management companies across California.

Duties

• Litigate lease disputes, unlawful detainer actions, and related property ownership matters in California state courts from inception to trial.
• Provide legal advice through phone consultations, assessing facts and issues, and counseling clients accordingly.
• Respond to client questions and concerns to increase and retain business.
• Prepare motions, pleadings, discovery, and pre-trial documents.
• Defend and conduct depositions.

Requirements

• J.D. and active California Bar license.
• 2+ years of trial experience.
• Strong oral advocacy and legal writing skills.
• Ability to work with individuals from diverse educational, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of landlord/tenant law, rules of civil procedure, and trial advocacy.
• Jury trial experience or similar tribunal experience.

Education

• Graduate degree.

Certifications

• Active California Bar license.
