A law firm seeks an Environmental Associate Attorney to join its Energy and Environmental practice team in Lansing, MI. The ideal candidate will possess 3-6 years of experience in environmental law, with a focus on public utility regulatory actions, environmental enforcement actions, and regulatory compliance. Candidates with experience from federal or Midwestern state agencies are encouraged to apply.

Duties

• Advise clients on environmental regulations, including CERCLA, RCRA, Clean Air Act, and Clean Water Act.
• Represent clients in public utility regulatory actions and environmental enforcement actions.
• Assist in regulatory compliance matters for energy and environmental sectors.
• Engage in environmental litigation, including CERCLA cost recovery and toxic tort cases.
• Participate in environmental transactions such as real estate, M&A, and site remediation.

Requirements

• 3-6 years of experience in environmental law, preferably in a law firm setting.
• Experience with federal or state government agencies is also considered.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance.

Education

• JD from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Bar admission in the state of Michigan or eligibility for admission.

Skills
