A law firm seeks an Employment Law Attorney in Topeka, KS. The attorney will work with diverse clients on various human resource and legal matters under the supervision of licensed attorneys.

Duties

• Draft and review legal agreements and documents, including employment and separation agreements.
• Respond to complaints from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and Kansas Human Rights Commission.
• Assist with workforce investigations and conduct legal research.
• Advise clients on legal rights, liabilities, and strategies.
• Assist in formulating human resources plans and policies.
• Advise on organizational policy matters, including counseling, discipline, and termination.
• Ensure compliance with employment laws and assist with investigations of employment claims.
• Draft and review employee handbooks and employer policies.
• Assist with Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) documentation and administration.
• Navigate the interactive process for Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accommodations.
• Conduct benefits and compensation reviews and analyses.
• Facilitate recruitment processes, including sourcing and interviewing candidates.
• Contribute to social media, website, and newsletter content.
• Attend meetings, conferences, and professional development sessions.

Requirements

• Licensed Attorney in the State of Kansas; Missouri License preferred.
• Experience in an office or team environment.
• Excellent written communication and time management skills.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in Kansas; Missouri License preferred.
