Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Partner specializing in Workers' Compensation for its Charleston, SC office. This role involves leading legal efforts in workers' compensation cases, providing expert legal analysis, and representing clients in various legal settings.

Duties

• Conduct file review and legal analysis of workers' compensation claims.
• Perform extensive legal research and draft client correspondence, discovery devices, summations, appeals, and appellate briefs.
• Meet an annual billable requirement of 1950 hours.
• Represent clients at depositions and hearings regularly.
• Prepare for and attend trials.
• Retain and evaluate expert witnesses.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in workers' compensation; experience in other practice areas is a plus.
• J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school.
• Admitted to practice in the state of NC; admission in other states is a plus but not required.
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Solid research abilities and strong written and oral communication skills.
• Strong work ethic with the ability to self-manage and work in a team environment.
• Must respond promptly to email and phone inquiries.
• Excellent client skills and telephone manner.

Education

• J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school.

Certifications

• Admitted to practice in the state of NC.
