Job Overview:
A San Antonio-based law firm is seeking an experienced Immigration Attorney to join its growing legal team. This role focuses on representing individuals in removal proceedings, family-based visa petitions, and naturalization matters. The position offers the opportunity to work closely with clients from diverse backgrounds, providing strategic legal advocacy with a strong commitment to immigrant rights and humanitarian support.

Duties:

• Represent clients in removal proceedings before immigration courts and administrative agencies

• Prepare and file petitions and applications including family-based visas, adjustment of status, waivers, and naturalization

• Conduct legal research, draft legal memoranda, and prepare court filings

• Provide comprehensive case analysis and develop individualized case strategies

• Communicate with clients to gather information, provide updates, and offer guidance through complex legal processes

• Attend hearings, interviews, and agency appointments on behalf of clients

• Maintain accurate documentation and case files in compliance with firm policies and procedures

Requirements:

• Active license to practice law in the State of Texas

• Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in immigration law, specifically in family-based immigration and removal defense

• Demonstrated commitment to immigrant rights and humanitarian legal work

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Comfortable managing a full caseload in a fast-paced environment

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

• Admission to the Texas State Bar in good standing

Skills:

• Bilingual fluency in Spanish highly preferred

• Proficiency with immigration legal databases and case management software

• Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team

• Empathetic approach to client interaction, particularly with vulnerable populations

• Skilled in courtroom advocacy and legal argumentation
