Job Title: Litigation Attorney

Job Overview:
A San Jose-based law firm is seeking a junior litigation associate to join its dynamic business and commercial litigation team. This position is ideal for a motivated legal professional with up to two years of litigation experience and a passion for resolving complex legal disputes. The role involves comprehensive involvement in all phases of litigation, including drafting, research, court appearances, and client engagement. Duties:

• Draft and respond to demand letters and handle related negotiations

• Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, pleadings, and motions

• Participate in discovery, including document review and preparation of responses

• Attend court hearings, mediations, and arbitration sessions

• Assist with preparing witnesses and materials for depositions and trials

• Provide strategic litigation support throughout proceedings

• Manage case files and maintain organized records of litigation activities

• Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex legal issues and strategy formulation

Requirements:

• 0-2 years of experience in litigation

• Interest in or exposure to business or commercial litigation

• Familiarity with California state and U.S. federal court procedures

• Strong analytical and persuasive writing skills

• Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines under pressure

• Keen attention to detail and ability to work independently

• Excellent verbal communication and advocacy skills

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active member in good standing with the California Bar

Skills:

• Legal research using platforms such as Westlaw or LexisNexis

• Drafting motions, discovery, and client correspondence

• Effective oral and written communication

• Case organization and file management

• Problem-solving with a proactive mindset

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and litigation support tools

Job Location:

• San Jose, CA

• Full-time, in-person (Monday through Friday)
