Senior Associate Attorney

A law firm is seeking a Senior Associate Attorney to join their team in New York, NY.

Job Overview:

• The candidate will handle a variety of cases representing owners, developers, managers, contractors, design professionals, manufacturers, distributors, retailers, and other private, municipal, and educational corporations.
• Conduct investigations, analyze claim materials, review contracts and construction records, and assess liability and damages.
• Prepare case evaluation reports, litigation budgets, pleadings, discovery, motions, and other legal papers.
• Attend court conferences, hearings, and depositions, and prepare cases for mediation, arbitration, or trial.
• Supervise paralegals working on the attorney’s cases.
• Experience handling construction accident/NYS Labor Law cases is a plus.

Duties:

• Handle a variety of cases representing various entities.
• Conduct investigations and analyze claim materials.
• Review contracts and construction records.
• Assess liability and damages.
• Prepare case evaluation reports and litigation budgets.
• Attend court conferences, hearings, and depositions.
• Prepare pleadings, discovery, motions, and other legal papers.
• Prepare cases for mediation, arbitration, or trial.
• Supervise paralegals working on cases.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of experience handling personal injury defense.
• Admitted to the NYS Bar.
• Experience handling construction accident/NYS Labor Law cases is a plus.

Education & Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to the NYS Bar.

Skills:

• Ability to build rapport with clients.
• Familiarity with insurance claims materials.
• Strong legal research, investigation, and negotiation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in using the ABA Uniform Task-Based Management System in budgeting and accounting for attorney time.
