A law firm is seeking a Post-Conviction Relief Attorney for its office in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. The ideal candidate will have experience in criminal defense and immigration law and be able to advocate for clients seeking relief after conviction.

Job Overview:

The Post-Conviction Relief Attorney will handle various post-conviction relief cases, including motions to vacate, expungements, early termination of probation, and more. They will represent clients in court proceedings, provide legal counsel, and collaborate with other attorneys within the firm. Fluency in both English and Spanish is highly preferred.

Duties:

• Advise clients on their legal rights and draw up legal documents about their cases
• Handle post-conviction relief cases, including motions, expungements, and reduction requests
• Attend motion hearings and provide clients with strategic advice following each hearing
• Manage open criminal cases, including arraignments, pre-trials, and sentencing
• Conduct legal research, draft motions, and interview clients as needed
• Analyze potential case outcomes based on legal precedents
• Manage caseload effectively and prioritize tasks accordingly

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• Admission to the California State Bar
• Experience in criminal defense and/or immigration law
• Familiarity with criminal procedures at the state and local levels
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well within a team
• Fluency in English and Spanish is strongly preferred
• Excellent communication and advocacy skills
