The University of Cincinnati (UC) Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering and Construction Management (CAECM) in the College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS) at the University of Cincinnati invites applications for a non-tenure track position as Professor Educator of Civil Engineering. The position is intended to be a long-term appointment and can be filled at the Assistant or Associate Professor Educator level – salary and rank commensurate with credentials. The anticipated start date is August 15, 2020. The position is 9-month full-time appointment, paid over 12 months with full University faculty benefits.

 

CAECM offers accredited undergraduate degrees in Civil Engineering, Construction Management and Architectural Engineering as well as Master's and Ph.D. degrees in Civil Engineering.

 

Responsibilities

*Responsibilities include developing and delivering undergraduate and graduate courses in the area of Civil Engineering *Course load will be 6-8 courses per year *The successful candidate will be expected to teach classes in the following areas:  undergraduate soil mechanics and associated laboratory, deep and shallow foundations, basic mechanics at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and soil mechanics at the graduate level *The successful candidate will be also expected to participate in departmental service

Minimum Qualifications:

*Prior to effective date of appointment, PhD in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Geotechnical Engineering and the following: *Professional engineering license from any U.S State *Minimum of 2 academic years of US university level teaching experience in civil engineering which must include geotechnical or structural engineering. *Minimum of 3 years of US construction industry experience in geotechnical or structural engineering.
