Job Overview

A law firm seeks a mid-to-senior level fintech regulatory associate in San Francisco, CA. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in payments or banking law, including bank chartering or money transmission licensing. This role is part of a Corporate Regulatory group advising technology companies on legal and regulatory issues related to online and mobile payments, lending, digital currency, and more.

Duties

• Advise on bank chartering and money transmission licensing.
• Provide legal guidance on online and mobile payment systems.
• Support technology companies with regulatory compliance.
• Engage with financial regulators and industry stakeholders.

Requirements

• Minimum of five years in payments or banking law.
• Experience with bank chartering or money transmission licensing.
• CA, WA, or NY bar membership preferred.
• Strong academic credentials and communication skills.
• Familiarity with blockchain and cryptocurrency is advantageous.
• Experience with financial regulators is a plus.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.

Certifications

• Bar membership in CA, WA, or NY preferred.
