Duties

  • Manage a caseload of removal defense cases in Phoenix, Florence, and Eloy Immigration Courts.
  • Prepare and litigate applications for relief from removal, including asylum and other waivers.
  • Argue motions to release clients from detention in bond proceedings.
  • Challenge allegations of removability through motions to terminate and suppress.
  • Conduct investigations and gather evidence to support clients' claims.
  • Prepare affirmative applications for visas, citizenship, and asylum.
  • Communicate with other attorneys and experts to benefit clients.
  • Draft and file motions and briefs before immigration courts and appeals.
  • Analyze immigration consequences of criminal convictions.
  • Litigate petitions for writ of habeas corpus and applications for injunctive relief.
  • Perform consultations for potential clients.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law by the highest court of any state.
  • Proficiency in Spanish is preferred but not required.
  • Reliable transportation with a valid driver's license and insurance.
  • Commitment to the firm's mission and values.
