Job Overview

A law firm seeks a mid-level Commercial Litigation Associate in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will possess strong complex litigation experience and a keen interest in high-level insurance coverage litigation. This role offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with partners and clients, contributing to a dynamic team environment.

Duties

• Draft complex case evaluations, pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents.
• Manage all aspects of litigation from inception through trial and appeal.
• Conduct legal research and draft analytical memoranda.
• Oversee written discovery, document review, and depositions.
• Engage directly with clients, witnesses, experts, and other counsel.
• Analyze insurance coverage and extra-contractual disputes, drafting coverage opinions.

Requirements

• 4-6 years of complex litigation experience required.
• Experience with insurance coverage litigation is a strong plus.
• Interest in emerging risks in insurance and environmental and products liability litigation required.
• Must be licensed to practice law and in good standing in the practicing state.
• Washington, DC candidates may be licensed in any US state or territory if eligible to waive into the DC Bar.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
