Duties

• Advise nonprofit and tax-exempt organizations on obtaining and maintaining tax-exempt status.
• Handle private inurement benefit, excess benefit transactions, and private foundation rules.
• Manage Form 990 reporting and structure relationships between tax-exempt and for-profit organizations.
• Provide counsel on nonprofit governance matters, including formation and executive compensation.
• Engage in transactions and restructurings involving nonprofits.
• Advise on philanthropy for high net worth individuals or businesses.
• Conduct transactional work and international grantmaking activities.

Requirements

• 3-6 years of relevant experience in tax-exempt organizations or nonprofit law.
• Admitted to and a member in good standing of the bar in the jurisdiction of the office.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Bar admission in the relevant jurisdiction.
