Duties: The candidate will analyze forest areas to determine which areas require short- or long-range cultural treatment. Will develop plans for application of silvicultural methods and practices in projects. Discuss alternatives for treatment of vegetation with specialists to coordinate the needs of the land management plan. Meet with parties from outside the agency to share proposed or potential land management practices to achieve objectives. Write planning documents to identify and explain the basis for silvicultural decisions. Write draft language for silvicultural proposals based on decisions given by manager. Write reports that summarize vegetation field data.
