Duties

• Lead complex litigation in trial and appellate courts for cities, counties, and special districts.
• Serve as chief labor negotiator, advising on collective bargaining and handling unfair practice charges.
• Conduct and manage high-profile employment investigations, especially involving safety employees.
• Handle contested administrative hearings, including arbitrations and trials.
• Provide strategic advice on public-sector labor and employment issues.
• Act as Special Counsel in matters involving elected official misconduct.
• Advise Fire Districts on general counsel services and compliance issues.
• Draft complex legal opinions and advise on governance issues.

Requirements

• Minimum 7 years of experience in relevant legal fields.
• Prior public agency or union-side experience preferred.

Education

• Top 50% of law school class preferred.
• Graduates from highly regarded law schools encouraged to apply.

Certifications

• Bar admission in California.

Skills
