A respected immigration law firm is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to lead the preparation, review, and oversight of responses to Requests for Evidence (RFEs), Notices of Intent to Deny (NOIDs), and Notices of Intent to Revoke (NOIRs) in family-based and humanitarian immigration cases. This position also functions as a legal resource for internal teams, providing mentorship, quality assurance, and client-facing guidance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in immigration law and a passion for supporting underserved communities through legal advocacy.
Review, analyze, and respond to USCIS correspondence, including RFEs, NOIDs, and NOIRs
Provide legal support to non-attorney staff on escalated cases and procedural questions
Identify legal trends and shifts in policy to guide strategy and improve consistency in responses
Edit and finalize RFE responses to ensure legal soundness and adherence to best practices
Conduct onboarding and provide continuous legal training for staff attorneys and support personnel
Audit work product of attorneys and non-attorney staff for quality and compliance
Communicate with clients when necessary to offer legal guidance, address concerns, or handle escalations
Collaborate with legal leadership to support operational goals and ensure effective workflow
Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing family-based and humanitarian immigration law
Substantial experience with applications such as:
VAWA
U-Visa
T-Visa
Medical Deferred Action
I-130
Adjustment of Status
Experience responding to RFEs, NOIDs, and NOIRs
Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor within a legal team structure
Strong case management skills and attention to legal detail
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school
Active bar membership in good standing with at least one U.S. jurisdiction
Excellent legal writing, research, and analytical capabilities
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to train and supervise attorneys and non-attorney professionals
High attention to detail and consistency in legal documentation
Advocacy-driven approach to client service
Adaptability to evolving immigration policy and internal procedures
Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is a plus
Proficiency with immigration case management systems preferred
