Assistant Professor - Criminal Justice
The candidate work in the School of Criminology and Justice Studies (SCJS). The appointment is expected to begin in fall, 2019. Should have strong statistical skills, an initial record of peer-reviewed publications that demonstrates the capacity to produce high quality scholarship, and a clearly articulated research agenda with the potential to generate external research funding. Candidates must be able to teach core statistical and data analysis courses at both the undergraduate and graduate (masters and doctorate) levels, along with courses in criminology and criminal justice. A Ph.D. degree in Criminology, Criminal Justice, or a related social science field is required. A Ph.D. in Statistics will also be considered for those applicants with research experience in criminal and/or juvenile justice. A Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree is preferred. Evidence of strong statistical skills and expertise in the identification and/or estimation of hard-to-reach populations is required. should have ability to teach core statistics and data analysis courses in the firm at both the undergraduate and graduate (masters and doctorate) levels. Experience with research grant proposals and funded programs is desired.
