A growing law firm is seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated Associate Attorney with experience in secured lending and civil litigation to join its California-based practice. Location:

• Long Beach, California

Duties:

• Perform intake and develop strategy and budget within 24 hours of receiving new matters

• Draft legal pleadings including discovery and dispositive motions

• Review title chains, foreclosure documents, and related records

• Draft and respond to client communications promptly and professionally

• Conduct legal research and write briefs, memos, and compliance reports

• Represent clients in court and at depositions with a high level of preparation

• Maintain regular communication with court staff, clients, and opposing counsel

• Collaborate with staff, assist with questions, and contribute positively to firm culture

• Support compliance and document review requirements

• Attend and provide updates after court appearances

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of legal experience, preferably in mortgage

• Experience with civil litigation processes including motion practice and discovery

• Familiarity with California state and federal courts

• Ability to independently manage caseload and prioritize tasks effectively

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active and in good standing with the California State Bar

Skills:

• Strong legal research and writing capabilities

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis)

• Detail-oriented and highly organized

• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced setting

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Ability to adapt to remote work environment when necessary
