Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Litigation Attorney to join its General Litigation group in New York City, NY. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in premise liability defense and property claims, with strong organizational, writing, and analytical skills. Trial experience is a plus but not required.

Duties

• Represent clients in all phases of litigation, including discovery.
• Ensure meticulous compliance with billing and reporting guidelines.
• Attend court appearances, hearings, depositions, and case management conferences.
• Conduct complex legal research and discovery.
• Draft discovery demands, motions, and legal memoranda.
• Conduct 50-h hearings on behalf of the City of New York.
• Review and analyze relevant documents to prepare for hearings.

Requirements

• Expert experience with New York General Municipal Law and CPLR.
• Superior court knowledge and case management skills.
• Experience drafting briefs and pleadings.
• Minimum of 3 years practicing as an Attorney in NY.
• Admission in NJ is a plus.
• Experience with 50-h hearings and municipal defense work.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Lexis/Nexis.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admitted to practice law in New York.
