Profile
Due to Covid-19 there will be no Mini Pupillage day in 2020 and the date for our 2021 Mini Pupillage day will be advertised here in due course.
Successful candidates will undertake various written and oral exercises in a workshop environment with the opportunity for feedback from established practitioners and the chance to discuss careers at the Bar.
In our experience this event is heavily oversubscribed and given the itinerary of the day places are strictly limited. The aim of the day is to give those who are considering applying for pupillage in the near future a unique insight into the practicalities of the job as well as life at the Bar in general. In all of those circumstances regrettably we will only consider applications from candidates who are in their final year of an LLB, on the GDL, on or are about to start the BPTC or who have completed a BPTC. Candidates will be provided with preparatory work prior to the commencement of the event and are expected to attend having prepared thoroughly
Applicants are expected to show similar potential to candidates for full pupillage and accordingly applicants with less than AAA at A-level (or equivalent) are unlikely to be considered save in exceptional circumstances.
How to Apply
-Please send your CV in PDF or word format, along with a 100 word cover letter on why you would like to attend, to Jade Andrews on jandrews@deanscourt.co.uk
-All data contained within applications is subject to Chambers’ GDPR compliance policy.
-All applications must contain an academic referee together with contact details for the same including an email address.
-All successful applicants are required to bring photographic ID on the day for security purposes.

Feedback from previous events:
A unique insight into the life of a barrister
Much more informative and useful than a regular mini-pupillage
I learnt more about life at the Bar in a day at Deans Court than I would have in a week at another set of chambers.
The most useful work experience I have ever had
“Second to none. The feedback on my advocacy was the most constructive and useful I have received.”
“Brilliant. It actually provided a real insight… as to whether this career was for me.”
“A very comprehensive reality check, but in a positive way.”
An opportunity that I would recommend any hopeful barrister to attend
Incredibly refreshing to see a Chambers taking such an approach
“Invaluable.”
“Every set of Chambers should do Mini-Pupillage like this.”
A fantastic experience
