Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel on matters related to international trade regulations, including CFIUS, ITAR, and U.S. export controls.
  • Advise clients on compliance with export control laws and regulations, including preparation and submission of required documentation.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate potential compliance issues.
  • Represent clients in proceedings before government agencies and manage responses to inquiries and investigations.
  • Assist with drafting and reviewing legal documents related to international trade and export controls.
  • Monitor and interpret changes in relevant laws and regulations and advise clients on their impact.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and departments to provide comprehensive legal services.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and best practices related to international trade and export controls.

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of experience in international trade regulatory, compliance, and enforcement matters.
  • Experience with CFIUS, U.S. export controls, and ITAR.
  • General knowledge of the Defense Priorities & Allocation System (DPAS) is preferred.
  • Must be admitted and actively barred in California.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admitted and actively barred in California.

Skills:

  • Expertise in international trade regulations and compliance.
  • Proficiency in handling CFIUS filings and export control issues.
  • Knowledge of ITAR and other relevant trade regulations.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
