Job Overview:
A prominent law firm is looking to hire an experienced ESG & Sustainable Finance Associate Attorney to join its growing practice. This role involves advising private equity firms, corporations, project sponsors, and lenders on intricate legal matters related to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and sustainable finance. The ideal candidate will bring 6-8 years of experience in handling complex, evolving legal issues, focusing on ESG and climate-related regulations, strategic opportunities, transaction strategies, and voluntary reporting frameworks.

Duties:

• Provide expert counsel to clients on ESG and sustainable finance issues, including regulatory requirements and investor demands.
• Assist in structuring, negotiating, and executing transactions that align with ESG principles and climate-related goals.
• Guide clients through evolving regulatory landscapes, helping them develop strategies to navigate ESG and climate-related challenges.
• Advise on voluntary ESG reporting frameworks and other related practices.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to provide clients with comprehensive solutions.
• Manage client relationships and deliver high-quality legal services on complex matters.
• Stay up to date with global ESG trends, regulations, and best practices.

Requirements:

• 6-8 years of experience in ESG, sustainable finance, or a related legal field.
• Strong background advising private equity firms, corporations, and financial institutions on ESG issues.
• Expertise in climate-related regulatory compliance, voluntary reporting frameworks, and strategic transaction advice.
• Proven ability to handle a diverse range of legal matters and client management tasks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to translate complex legal concepts into clear advice.

Education:

• J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Bar membership in NY.
