Trial Attorney

Profile

A law firm in St. Petersburg, FL, is seeking a Trial Attorney to handle their own cases from inception up to and through trial. The ideal candidate will have 2-7 years of experience, preferably in general liability.

Duties:

• Manage own caseload from inception to trial
• Conduct legal research and investigation to develop case strategies
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other legal documents
• Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings, trials, and appeals
• Prepare witnesses for testimony and cross-examine opposing witnesses
• Negotiate settlements and participate in alternative dispute resolution processes
• Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates on case status and discuss strategy
• Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to provide comprehensive legal services
• Stay informed about changes in the law and legal precedents relevant to the practice area

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
• Admission to the State Bar of Florida and in good standing
• 2-7 years of experience as a practicing attorney, preferably in general liability
• Proven track record of successful trial experience
• Strong legal research and writing skills
• Excellent oral advocacy and courtroom presentation skills
• Ability to work independently and manage a caseload efficiently
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Attention to detail and organizational skills

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
