Business Tax Attorney

A law firm in New York is seeking a Business Tax Attorney with 6+ years of experience. The ideal candidate will have experience in general, broad-based business tax, including Corporate Taxation, Mergers & Acquisitions, Private Equity, and Partnership work, with international experience being a plus. An LL.M. in Tax is preferred. The candidate must be a self-motivated, personable team player with outstanding academic and professional credentials. Additionally, candidates must be admitted to practice in New York.

Duties:

• Provide legal counsel and representation on business tax matters, including Corporate Taxation, Mergers & Acquisitions, Private Equity, and Partnership work
• Conduct tax due diligence for corporate transactions
• Draft and review tax-related documents, including tax opinions, memoranda, and agreements
• Assist with tax planning and structuring for domestic and international transactions
• Counsel clients on tax compliance issues, including federal, state, and international tax laws
• Represent clients in tax audits and disputes with tax authorities
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to develop and implement tax strategies
• Stay updated on developments in tax laws and regulations

Requirements:

• 6+ years of experience in business tax law
• LL.M. in Tax preferred
• Admitted to practice law in New York

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
• LL.M. in Tax preferred

Certifications:

Admitted to practice law in New York
