A law firm seeks an experienced Employment Attorney to provide legal counsel on labor and employment matters. The role involves handling litigation, advising clients on employment-related issues, drafting agreements, and supporting corporate transactions. This position offers a hybrid work environment in Dallas, TX, and Austin, TX, with a combination of in-office and remote flexibility.
Manage litigation related to employment law, including class actions and individual lawsuits.
Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda.
Advise clients on labor and employment law matters, including wage and hour compliance, discrimination, retaliation, and employee classification.
Draft and negotiate employment agreements, severance packages, and other contractual documents.
Counsel clients on workplace policies, employee training, compensation structures, and compliance with state and federal employment regulations.
Handle employment-related due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions.
Represent clients before state and federal courts, as well as administrative agencies.
Provide guidance on issues related to restrictive covenants, employee mobility, and workplace accommodations.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in labor and employment law.
Strong understanding of federal and state employment laws, including wage and hour regulations, anti-discrimination statutes, and compliance obligations.
Experience defending class and collective actions.
Ability to provide strategic day-to-day legal counsel to clients.
Familiarity with employment aspects of corporate transactions.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Licensed to practice law in Texas.
Legal research and writing proficiency.
Strong negotiation and contract drafting abilities.
Analytical thinking and strategic problem-solving.
Effective client communication and advisory skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively.
Business acumen related to employment law and corporate transactions.
