The ideal candidate will have a background in managing various components of real estate transactions, including lender or borrower side mortgage and mezzanine financings, real estate acquisitions and dispositions, and joint venture deals. Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills are essential. Candidates must possess excellent academic credentials and references and be licensed to practice law in New York or eligible for licensure.

Duties:

  • Independently manage and oversee components of real estate transactions, including mortgage and mezzanine financings, acquisitions, dispositions, and joint ventures.
  • Conduct due diligence reviews, including title examinations, surveys, zoning analyses, and environmental assessments.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex real estate transaction documents, including purchase agreements, loan documents, and joint venture agreements.
  • Provide legal advice and guidance to clients on various real estate matters, including regulatory compliance, risk management, and transaction structuring.
  • Collaborate with clients, partners, and other stakeholders to develop and implement strategic legal solutions for real estate transactions.
  • Represent clients in negotiations, meetings, and closings with counterparties and other parties involved in real estate transactions.
  • Mentor and supervise junior attorneys and legal staff working on real estate matters.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in real estate law, focusing on mortgage and mezzanine financings, acquisitions, dispositions, and joint ventures.
  • Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Excellent academic credentials from a reputable institution.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Current license to practice law in New York or eligibility for licensure.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Bar in New York or eligibility for admission.
