Associate Attorney needed for Monument office

Profile

A law firm in Monument, CO is seeking an Associate Attorney to perform a wide variety of functions with a focus on Estate Planning, Business Planning, Probate, and Trust Administration. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively, efficiently, and proactively alongside the team, following established systems, processes, and deadlines.

Duties:

• Meet with and communicate with clients to discern their wishes, engage new clients, and review current client plans.
• Draft appropriate legal documents including Trusts, Wills, Powers of Attorney, and Health Care Directives.
• Advise clients on estate, gift, GST, and income tax matters, explaining the firm's approach to estate planning, engagements, and fees.
• Support other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff with assigned tasks.
• Participate in the firm's marketing activities, including public speaking engagements, educational events and seminars, writing articles and blogs, and other necessary activities.
• Attend Continuing Legal Education (CLE) as necessary to maintain competence and any required credentialing.

Requirements:

• J.D. Degree and license to practice law in the state of Colorado, in good standing with the Colorado State Bar.
• Excellent communication skills - both oral and written.

Skills:

• Knowledge and experience in Estate Planning, Business Planning, Probate, and Trust Administration.
• Strong drafting skills for legal documents.
• Ability to advise clients on tax matters related to estate planning.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Collaborative mindset and ability to work efficiently within a team.
• Proactive approach to tasks and deadlines.
