A law firm seeks an experienced litigation attorney in Houston, TX. This role involves managing complex federal-sector employment matters, requiring independent case ownership from intake through resolution. The attorney will develop legal strategies, execute litigation tasks, and ensure consistent progress across an active caseload.

Duties

• Conduct hearing practice.
• Draft and file substantive motions, briefs, and legal memoranda.
• Perform advanced legal research and case analysis.
• Manage discovery, including drafting and responding to written discovery and handling disputes.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Prepare clients and witnesses for testimony.
• Represent clients in administrative hearings, mediations, and related proceedings.
• Maintain clear, consistent communication with clients.
• Develop documented case strategies and next-step action plans.
• Work within established firm systems, workflows, and performance standards.

Requirements

• J.D. and an active bar license in good standing.
• Minimum 5 years of litigation experience.
• Demonstrated experience with motions practice and discovery.
• Strong legal research and persuasive writing skills.
• Experience taking and/or defending depositions.
• Ability to manage multiple complex matters simultaneously.
• Accept a background check.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.)
