A law firm seeks an experienced Associate Attorney to join its criminal defense team in Atlanta, GA. The successful candidate will provide strategic advocacy for clients facing a range of misdemeanor and felony charges. This role requires a proactive attorney who thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses significant courtroom experience.

Duties

• Conduct client interviews, intake assessments, and strategy sessions.
• Provide legal counsel and representation in misdemeanors, felonies, and DUI matters.
• Conduct legal research and draft motions, briefs, and pleadings.
• Analyze discovery, including police reports and forensic evidence.
• Negotiate plea agreements and prepare cases for hearings and trials.
• Appear in court for arraignments, hearings, and trials.
• Collaborate with investigators, experts, and staff.
• Participate in firm meetings and case reviews.
• Maintain accurate case files and documentation.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Admission to practice in Georgia and in good standing.
• Minimum 3+ years of litigation experience in criminal defense or prosecution.
• Strong advocacy skills with proven hearing or trial experience.
• Proficiency in discovery review and motion practice.
• Excellent legal writing and research abilities.
• Professional communication skills and client-management abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple cases independently.
• Proficiency with legal technology; MyCase experience preferred.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.)
