Family Law Associate Attorney

A law firm seeks a Family Law Associate Attorney to join its practice in Baltimore, Maryland. This role provides an excellent opportunity for an attorney with at least two years of experience to manage a caseload of family law matters. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate with a supportive team, including a seasoned paralegal and administrative assistant. Duties

• Manage a caseload of family law matters, including divorce, child custody, and spousal support cases.
• Provide legal advice and representation to clients in family law disputes.
• Draft and review legal documents, including petitions, motions, and settlement agreements.
• Represent clients in family court hearings and trials.
• Work closely with paralegals and administrative staff to ensure smooth case progression.
• Engage in client consultations, offering strategic legal guidance and support throughout the legal process.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and legal teams on case strategies and legal proceedings.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Maryland family law and court procedures.

Requirements

• Minimum of two years of experience in family law practice.
• Active membership in the Maryland State Bar.
• Proven experience in managing family law cases, including litigation and settlement negotiations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal matters clearly to clients.
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple cases simultaneously.
• A client-centered approach to legal practice with an emphasis on providing compassionate and effective representation.
• Ability to work well both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in Maryland.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of Maryland family law statutes and regulations.
• Excellent legal research and writing skills, including drafting legal motions and briefs.
• Experience handling a variety of family law cases, including custody, divorce, and child support.
• Ability to navigate court procedures and effectively represent clients in hearings and trials.
• High level of attention to detail and the ability to manage a diverse caseload.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues.
