Job Overview

A law firm seeks a mid-level associate with 3-6 years of experience to join their Global Projects department in Houston, focusing on oil and gas. The candidate will engage in domestic and international energy transactions, emphasizing upstream, midstream, and downstream matters, within a collaborative and expanding practice.

Duties

• Advise clients on oil and gas transactions, including acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures.
• Draft, review, and negotiate transaction documents and commercial contracts.
• Conduct due diligence and manage transaction processes from inception to closing.
• Collaborate with partners and clients on strategic legal and business issues.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams across practice groups and jurisdictions.
• Support business development and client relationship initiatives.

Requirements

• 3-6 years of experience in corporate transactional practice, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
• Experience with acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, or energy-related transactions.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, analytical, and project management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent academic credentials and communication skills.

Education

• J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admission to, or eligibility for admission in, the relevant jurisdiction.
