A fast-growing, client-centered law firm on Boston’s North Shore is seeking an experienced and compassionate Family Law Attorney to join its team in Melrose, MA. The ideal candidate will be driven, empathetic, and well-versed in Massachusetts family law.

Represent clients in divorce, child custody, child support, alimony, prenuptial agreements, and post-divorce modification matters
Prepare legal documents, including pleadings, agreements, motions, and trial materials
Handle high-conflict family law cases involving domestic violence and contested custody
Negotiate settlements and appear at court hearings and trials
Guide clients through complex legal situations with strategic counsel and empathy
Collaborate with team members, including attorneys and paralegals, to move cases efficiently through the litigation process
Assist with the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings
Maintain organized, up-to-date client files
Contribute to a firm culture focused on client advocacy, integrity, and professional growth
Minimum 3 years of experience in Massachusetts family law
Strong litigation and negotiation skills
Experience managing a caseload independently
Familiarity with real estate issues in the context of divorce is a plus
Proficiency with legal technology tools such as Clio, Lawmatics, and Microsoft Office (preferred)
Empathetic and professional demeanor in high-stress situations
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Active member in good standing with the Massachusetts Bar
Valid driver’s license for court and client meetings (as needed)
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Active license to practice law in Massachusetts (required)
