A distinguished law firm based in Baltimore, MD seeks a Junior Tax Associate Attorney to join its Affordable Housing and Tax Credit Team. This role presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to a growing legal practice dedicated to advising for-profit and nonprofit developers on tax-related matters in affordable multifamily housing projects.
Duties
Provide legal counsel on partnership taxation and federal income tax credits related to affordable housing projects.
Assist in the structuring, acquisition, financing, and sale of affordable multifamily housing developments.
Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, contracts, and other legal documents.
Collaborate with developers, investors, and lenders to navigate federal, state, and local tax programs.
Ensure compliance with tax regulations and offer strategic advice on tax benefits.
Work alongside a dedicated team to handle transactional tax matters for clients.
Requirements
Admission to the Maryland State Bar (or eligibility for admission).
Strong background in partnership tax law and federal income tax credits.
Excellent analytical, research, and communication skills.
Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to client matters.
Education
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
LL.M. in Taxation (preferred).
Undergraduate degree in Accounting (preferred).
Certifications
Active State Bar membership in good standing.
Skills
