Job Overview:
A distinguished law firm based in Washington, DC is actively seeking an Associate Attorney with 4-5 years of focused experience in FDA regulatory compliance to join its Health & Life Sciences practice. The role centers on advising clients on legal and regulatory issues related to FDA-regulated products, particularly pharmaceuticals and medical devices. Ideal candidates will bring a strong foundation in current good manufacturing practices (CGMP), a scientific or industry background, and a proactive approach to navigating complex regulatory environments. Duties:

• Deliver strategic legal guidance on FDA compliance, focusing on drug and device regulations

• Conduct regulatory analysis and research, with a concentration on CGMP compliance

• Draft, edit, and evaluate legal and regulatory documents, including filings, internal protocols, and contracts

• Partner with internal legal teams and external clients to structure risk-mitigated regulatory strategies

• Represent clients in FDA inspections, enforcement actions, and related regulatory matters

• Monitor and interpret regulatory developments, agency trends, and enforcement priorities

Requirements:

• 4-5 years of hands-on legal experience in FDA regulatory matters

• In-depth knowledge of CGMP and FDA compliance issues relevant to pharmaceutical and medical device industries

• Demonstrated ability to manage complex regulatory assignments independently

• Strong communication and legal drafting abilities

• Capacity to handle competing deadlines in a high-pressure legal environment

• District of Columbia Bar membership (or eligibility via reciprocity or UBE score transfer)

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in Washington, DC, or ability to gain admission through reciprocity or transfer

Skills:

• Expertise in FDA regulatory frameworks and compliance strategies

• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities

• Prior exposure to legal issues in drug/device development life cycles

• Background in science or industry, especially in:

  • Analytical Chemistry

  • Chemical engineering

  • Microbiology

• Excellent legal writing and oral advocacy skills
