Job Overview:
A leading national law firm is seeking an experienced Insurance Coverage and Litigation Of Counsel to join its San Francisco office. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a senior attorney to work with a collaborative team handling complex coverage and coverage litigation matters for domestic and foreign insurers across the United States. Flexible hybrid or remote work arrangements are available.

Location:

• San Francisco, California

Duties:

• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, legal memoranda, and other legal documents

• Attend court hearings, depositions, and mediations

• Investigate claims and draft comprehensive coverage opinion letters

• Handle discovery processes and draft pleadings in coverage litigation matters

• Provide insurance coverage advice to clients across various insurance lines

• Communicate effectively with clients, providing regular updates and case analyses

• Collaborate across offices and departments to contribute to a cohesive and supportive team environment

Requirements:

• Minimum of 8 years of defense litigation experience

• Substantial experience in coverage and coverage litigation matters

• Experience drafting coverage opinions in insurance lines such as CGL, property, professional liability, cyber, and intellectual property

• Experience handling third-party and/or first-party claims

• Strong background in drafting discovery and pretrial motions required

• Experience cross-examining plaintiffs and fact witnesses preferred

• Trial experience considered a plus

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admission to practice law in the State of California

• Ability to independently manage complex caseloads
