Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate to join its Commercial Trial Practice Group in Omaha, NE. This position is ideal for an attorney with some litigation experience who is eager to enhance their skills in complex commercial litigation. The role involves taking a substantive and leading part in various cases, including general commercial disputes, mass torts, and product liability litigation, while collaborating closely with experienced partners and clients.

Duties

• Manage a broad range of complex litigation matters in federal and state courts and arbitration forums nationwide.
• Handle aspects of complex civil litigation, including client communications, motion practice, discovery, court appearances, mediations, and negotiating settlements.
• Take and defend fact and expert depositions.

Requirements

• Desire to take on substantive and leading roles in cases, including attendance at hearings, depositions, and trial.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and exceptional research skills.
• Strategic and analytical mindset with a commitment to excellence and professionalism.
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic.

Education

• Currently admitted to practice in Nebraska with an active bar license in good standing or able to be admitted within one year required.
• 1+ years experience in civil litigation.
• Experience in complex business litigation, product liability, and other tort litigation preferred but not required.
• Excellent academic credentials.

Certifications

• Active bar license in Nebraska or eligibility for admission within one year.
