A respected law firm based in Queens, NY, is seeking a skilled legal professional to lead initial consultations and client intake for immigration matters. This position is well-suited for a licensed attorney with a strong ability to connect with clients, assess eligibility for immigration reliefs, and convert consultations into active legal cases. The role is fully remote and involves close collaboration with legal support staff to ensure a high-touch, efficient onboarding experience for clients.

Duties:

  • Conduct virtual consultations (via phone/video) with prospective immigration clients

  • Evaluate each client’s eligibility for various immigration options

  • Provide clear, professional explanations of legal services and procedures

  • Facilitate case onboarding by drafting agreements and outlining legal strategy

  • Maintain thorough documentation of client interactions and case progression

  • Coordinate with associates and support staff to transition new clients into the firm’s workflow

  • Complete basic legal tasks, including document review and limited legal research

  • Deliver responsive and empathetic service to clients from diverse backgrounds

Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction

  • 5 years of experience working directly with clients

  • Demonstrated proficiency in building client trust and managing intake conversations

  • Familiarity with immigration law, including but not limited to:

    • Family-based petitions

    • Employment-based matters

    • Removal/deportation defense

  • Confidence in a consultation-heavy role conducted primarily over the phone and video

  • Ability to operate independently while working remotely

  • Strong organizational habits with keen attention to follow-up and client tracking

  • Flexibility to adapt in a fast-moving and client-centric legal environment

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active Bar membership in any U.S. state or territory

Skills:

  • Excellent verbal communication and persuasive speaking abilities

  • Sound legal research and analytical reasoning

  • Strong interpersonal and client-engagement capabilities

  • Sales-oriented mindset with aptitude for converting leads into active clients

  • Bilingual fluency (preferred, but not required)

  • Technological comfort with remote work tools and client management systems
